Wrocław gets a new international dance festival this October
Wrocław is set to welcome dancers, choreographers and dance enthusiasts from across Europe and beyond when the WRO LATIN FUSION FESTIVAL takes place from 9 to 12 October 2026.
Presented as the first festival of its kind in Wrocław, the four-day event will bring together Latin American dance, urban styles and contemporary choreography. The programme is designed to move well beyond traditional daytime classes, with workshops and masterclasses joined by evening parties and dance battles.
Artists from Brazil, El Salvador, Peru and Spain are expected to take part, giving local dancers the opportunity to learn directly from performers and teachers working across different international dance scenes. For Wrocław's growing international community, the festival also offers a chance to connect through music and movement, with no requirement to be an experienced dancer.
From Reggaeton and Brazilian Zouk to Hip-Hop
Reggaeton will be one of the central styles at the festival. Closely connected with Latin American and Caribbean music culture, the dance has become a global phenomenon, with artists such as Bad Bunny helping bring its musical world to audiences far beyond the region.
Classes will explore the rhythm, groove, isolations and full-body movement that characterise the style.
Another major part of the programme will be Brazilian Zouk, a partner dance originating in Brazil. Its emphasis on connection, fluid movement and musicality makes it quite different in character from Reggaeton, while still fitting naturally into the festival's broader celebration of contemporary Latin dance.
The programme will also feature Hip-Hop, samba, popping and Commercial Dance.
Bringing these styles together is central to the festival's concept, creating an event where different dance communities can meet rather than remaining within separate scenes.
Classes for beginners as well as experienced dancers
You do not need years of dance experience to take part. The Basic Panel is intended for people who are new to the selected styles and want to learn the fundamentals in an accessible setting. It offers an introduction to dance without requiring previous experience.
More experienced participants can choose the Masterclass Panel, which focuses on areas such as technique, choreography, musicality, and individual style under the guidance of visiting artists.
That split could make the festival particularly appealing to Wrocław residents who have always wanted to try Latin or urban dance but have not known where to start, while giving established dancers a chance to work with choreographers they might otherwise only encounter online or at festivals abroad.
The dancing continues after the classes
Workshops will only be part of the experience. Evening dance parties will also give participants the opportunity to put what they have learned into practice, meet other dancers and enjoy a less structured side of the festival.
The programme will also include dance battles, where dancers compete through musicality, creativity, energy and individual expression.
The organisers say they wanted to create an event in which dance remains part of the festival throughout the day:
We wanted to create a festival in Wrocław where dance is present throughout the entire day, from workshops and masterclasses to parties and dance battles. We want to bring different communities together and create a place where everyone can find their own space to develop and have fun.
A new date for Wrocław's international dance calendar
WRO LATIN FUSION FESTIVAL arrives with ambitions that extend beyond its first edition. The organisers want the event to become an international meeting point connecting artists, instructors and dancers from Poland and other countries.
For Wrocław, that means another opportunity to bring an international cultural audience into the city, this time through a dance scene that spans Latin America, Europe and the global urban dance community.
