October brings pumpkins, autumn colours and a welcome excuse to spend a few hours outdoors. Around Wrocław, several pumpkin farms and seasonal attractions offer a chance to pick up pumpkins, take photographs, enjoy family activities or simply make the most of the autumn atmosphere.
There are options close to the city as well as farms worth the short drive into the surrounding countryside. Here are three places to consider this October.
Dyniowa Farma Wrocław
For those who do not want to leave the city, Dyniowa Farma at ul. Wróblewskiego 9, close to the Centennial Hall, offers a distinctly autumnal outing without a trip into the countryside.
The site covers almost 10,000 square metres and has been designed around the atmosphere of a traditional pumpkin farm, with rural scenery, themed props, games and friendly animals.
There are various attractions, including a straw maze, corn pool, pumpkin bowling, mini golf, trampolines and photo spots. A sensory trail has also been created around the idea of learning about farm life through play.
Food is part of the experience too, with pumpkin soup and pumpkin cake alongside zapiekanki, chips and hot and cold drinks.
Dyniowa Farma is open from 3rd to 31st of October, from 10:00 to 18:00.
Pumpkin Patch in Zaprężyn
About 35 minutes from Wrocław, Pumpkin Patch in Zaprężyn is a newer addition to the autumn calendar and is holding its first season this year.
The farm grows its own pumpkins in a range of varieties and colours, with autumn flowers, rural corners and plenty of open space. Animals and dedicated spots for photographs add to the seasonal setting.
Pumpkin Patch is open until 31st of October, on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 to 19:00.
For those looking for something a little more rural, it offers an alternative to the attractions available within the city itself.
Farma Dyń in Różyniec
A longer drive from Wrocław leads to Farma Dyń in Różyniec, near Gromadka, roughly 1.5 hours from the city.
The setting focuses on the visual side of autumn, with large pumpkins, decorative wreaths, colourful heathers and various corners arranged for photographs. There is also the opportunity to buy edible and decorative pumpkins, as well as seasonal plants including heathers and chrysanthemums.
The farm is open until the end of October, Tuesday to Friday: 12:00 to 18:00 and Saturday and Sunday: 10:00 to 19:00.
A seasonal day out close to Wrocław
Pumpkin farms have become a familiar part of the October landscape. For families, they provide outdoor activities during the school autumn break, while photographers and anyone looking for seasonal decorations can make use of the many autumn-themed settings.
The three locations also offer rather different experiences. Dyniowa Farma is the most accessible for a city-based visit, Pumpkin Patch provides a newer countryside option, while Różyniec combines the farm setting with pumpkins and autumn plants for sale.
For opening times and ticket information, it is best to check the individual farm's own channels before setting off, particularly later in October.
